About Me.
I am a graduate of Harvard, Harvard Law School, and Oxford University,
where I was a Rhodes Scholar.
I spent many years as a lawyer happily working to protect the environment. At the same time, many families in my community came to me for advice about applying to the Ivies and other selective colleges because of my educational background.
I quickly realized that so many students were getting bad advice about what they “must” be doing in high school – and that they were working very hard on activities, and turning out application essays, that weren’t going to improve their admissions odds.
I started advising students about how to build the kinds of resumes that would make them more competitive for the top schools, by pursuing their genuine interests in fun and interesting ways.
I also realized that I loved using my advocacy skills to help students create applications that further strengthened their admissions odds.
Soon, I began speaking and writing internationally on education issues, including college planning. My articles have appeared in publications including the Washington Post, Miami Herald, Philadelphia Enquirer, Sacramento Bee, and the Houston Chronicle.
With my heart in helping students, I left the law and became a college consultant.
I love becoming part of my students’ lives –helping them grow by tackling exciting and innovative projects that help them stand out to college admission officers, creating compelling applications to improve their acceptance odds, and celebrating with them as they achieve their college dreams.
